Cranberry, pecans, and pumpkin seeds are a few ingredients that I like to add to my trail mix. At home I keep several jars of various nuts, seeds, and dried fruit to mix together depending on how I’m feeling that day. Nuts and seeds are full of vitamins, protein, and healthy fats which make them a wholesome post workout snack. You can satisfy a sweet tooth by adding a little bit of dried fruit too.
A few things to keep in mind:
Keep the portion size small, nuts are healthy but high in calories.
Limit the amount of dried fruit used since dried fruit is still high in calories and sugar.
Stick to raw nuts and seeds instead of salted or roasted to get the most nutrients.
