Adrianne Ho for The Venom Go By Hyperice

The Venom Go by Hyperice is my new favorite wearable technology. It’s become one of the first items I bring with me as I start my day. It’s super easy to use and offers several settings for different vibration patterns and levels of heat therapy. This allows me to use it in various situations, whether I’m in need of some serious relief to heal an injury or just wanting to add it to my daily practice of well-being. I love that it has bluetooth connectivity to my smart devices by syncing to the Hyperice app. This allows me to connect and access all of my devices in one place. The convenience of the Hyperice Venom technology in travel size really suits my on-the-go lifestyle.” – Adrianne Ho

“As someone who is frequently active, I have added it to my recovery process to enhance my performance when working out. I’ve noticed that since I’ve started using it my recovery time has decreased significantly. It’s also something that is useful to me throughout my day. The sleek and lightweight design allows me to use it discreetly when I’m in need of relaxation and relief. It’s easy to put on my body and remove once I’m finished receiving my heated massage. Although this technology was designed with athletes and wellness enthusiasts in mind, I would recommend it to anyone looking to feel their best and be free from body tension or pain.” – Adrianne Ho

Adrianne Ho For Core By Hyperice

“Consistent meditation can improve almost all aspects of our lives. From greater mental health to increasing physical recovery and performance. Yet it’s still challenging to incorporate day to day and to know if you’re doing it right. That’s where Hyperice’s newest technology Core comes into play. The device links to an app that provides a variety of guided mediation, while its biosensors track your physiological response and provide feedback. The device vibrates while you meditate to keep you anchored in the present moment while helping to guide your breath. It’s a rare example of technology being used to positively impact mental wellness and an easy tool for us to improve our overall health, performance, recovery and self-care.” – Adrianne Ho

Adrianne Ho Loves Courage Bagels

“Hand sliced smoked salmon, cream cheese, tomato, onion, capers, dill, pepper, olive oil and lemon… A beautiful combination of flavors on top of one of the best bagels I’ve ever had. The burnt everything by Courage Bagels is a perfect combination of chewy and texture. Not using commercial yeast, every made by hand bagel is a simple yet beautiful piece of culinary art. From selling bagels at the farmers markets to pop-ups at Broome Street General Store the new outpost in Silver Lake’s Virgil Village is truly worth the wait on one of Los Angeles’ hippest queues.” – Adrianne Ho

At Home Fostering Kittens with Luxe Paws

I’ve loved cats since I was a baby, when I shared a crib with my first cat Minny. Fostering has been a passion of mine since spending more time in Los Angeles from Toronto and New York City. Working with the amazing non-profit Luxe Paws in Silver Lake, who trap and neuter parentless stray and feral cats, I help nurture, feed, occasionally rehabilitate and find their forever homes. Helping animals, especially pets is very dear to my heart and I highly recommend fostering if you are blessed with the time. It’s fulfilling in a unique way and very therapeutic especially during times of isolation. Even though it’s extra hard to say goodbye to fosters babies, the warmth you feel when they find their forever home is so worth it.” – Adrianne Ho

How Model Adrianne Ho Starts Her Day For Highsnobiety

Adrianne Ho is many things. She’s a model, one well known in the streetwear world for her work for the likes of adidas, Nike and Riccardo Tisci (and, of course, the cover of Highsnobiety Issue 7). She’s a fashion designer, crafting technical but stylish workout gear under her own lifestyle and culture label Sweat the Style. She’s a certified IG goddess, with 734,000 followers at the time of writing. She’s a TV host, a director, a businesswoman — the list goes on.
But in everything Ho does, you can guarantee there will always be a focus on two things: health and style. Her Instagram feed bombards you with ‘fit pics and #fitspo. She makes working out—sometimes in Supreme, naturally—and eating healthily look cool and genuinely aspirational. The key to living the good life, she says, is getting it right between dawn and noon.
Read on to learn about how Ho uses meditation, workouts and lemon water to start her day in the best way possible.
What time do you wake up?
I recently moved to Silver Lake and have been getting up early to work on my new house. I’ve been waking up with the sun and birds because I’ve been so excited to get the day started.
Then what happens?
The first thing I do in the morning is meditate and try to clear my head. Then I’ll check my phone — I do a lot of business in Asia and the time difference is so extreme that there’s usually a lot of messages or requests that I need to respond to early.
Then I’ll relax and take in the views around me before setting a schedule for what I want to accomplish that day.
What’s on your breakfast table?
My diet is plant-based for the most part, but I have my splurges — as you can see on my Instagram! Generally, I start the day with room temperature lemon water. After that, if I’m not heading straight to a workout, I’ll have an almond milk matcha latte and oatmeal. I love the taste of matcha and it still gives me a little caffeine hit. I don’t drink regular milk, so I always order or make lattes with almond milk at home. I’ve also been getting into hemp and oat milk as a nice alternative.
What’s happening around you?
Well, I don’t watch TV but sometimes I’ll play some relaxing ambient music. After a little bit of work is done, I’ll usually go work out. If it’s an off day I’ll walk the Silver Lake Reservoir and go over tasks for the day; that could be approving designs, finalizing campaigns, working on film or TV concepts, or creating social media content.
How important is a solid morning routine for you?
The most important part of my routine starts right before I wake up: especially when traveling, I have to make sure I get at least 8 hours of sleep. It can be really difficult with jet lag and work schedules, but it just means cutting out idle time on the phone before going to sleep. I fly to Asia every month so the time difference is really tricky, and by the time I’m adjusted I have to go back to NYC or LA. Lots of water and sleep are really the most important for recovery.
What kind of workouts do you do in the morning?
I’m lucky enough at this point to have a trainer in every city I frequent. If I’m home, I’ll work out four or five days a week, usually in the morning. I regularly go to Barry’s Bootcamp and do weight training with my personal trainer Micah McKinley at Phys Ed. Studio.
I’ll also mix in muay thai, tennis, hiking, or some other group fitness classes to keep it interesting. I love going to classes or one-on-one training because it makes me push myself harder than I would if I was alone at a gym.
Why do you think we place so much importance in getting a good start to your day?
I think it’s because we always want to start strong — that’s applicable to everything. A little trick I set for myself is setting simpler, easier goals in the morning to give myself a sense of accomplishment, which then sets the tone for the rest of the day. Since I’m so busy when traveling, it’s important for me when I’m home to have a strict, methodical routine to get everything done until the next time I have to leave.

HYPEBAE INTERVIEW: Adrianne Ho Reveals 10 Things You Didn’t Know About Her

fmarin-170907-adrianneho

How much do you know about Sweat the Style‘s Adrianne Ho beyond her 2,000-plus Instagram photos? A model, an entrepreneur and now an adidas Originals ambassador, the globetrotter has always been active on social media but it isn’t often that she talks about herself. Between her travels to China and New York, she took a pause to chat with us on everything from her fitness routine and skincare regimen, to her favorite kicks and food.

Read on to learn 10 things you didn’t know about the streetwear darling, and peep the SoHo-shot editorial as well. She’s seen wearing pieces from Supreme, Noah, Alexander Wang, Acne Studios, adidas and more.

fmarin-170909-adrianneho

1. Her love for food was actually what first got her into fitness:
Having a French mother and Chinese father, I was raised on rich food. So once I started modeling, I needed a serious regimen to offset all the food I love to eat. Energy in, energy out. I started seeing a personal trainer who would create workout routines that we would do not only in the gym but also all around Downtown Toronto. It was really inspiring for me to see how he could turn any setting into a fun place to work out, and how much better I felt and looked from training. At that point, I became addicted to working out and fell in love with the lifestyle. Today, I’m still motivated because there is still so much to learn and new workouts to try.

fmarin-170909-adrianneho

2. She made her debut as a television host this year with her show, Sweat the City:
I’ve always believed that everyone has something to teach you. Throughout the series, I meet with experts and leaders in food, fitness and culture from NYC, LA and Toronto. I’m hoping the audience can learn and be inspired by every guest on the show and be able to apply that knowledge to their daily life.

3. For those who’re curious, this is what Adrianne’s weekly workout routine looks like:
My routine is always a little different depending on what city I’m in. When I’m home in LA, I see my personal trainer Micah McKinley about three times a week at his Phys Ed studios in Silver Lake and Echo Park. We focus on total-body circuit strength training and high-intensity interval training. On other days, I get my cardio from Barry’s Bootcamp, Aerospace, SoulCycle, tennis, hiking and running.

fmarin-170909-adrianneho

4. Her new favorite travel destination isn’t where you’d expect:
One of my most memorable trips was visiting Chengdu, the capital city of the Sichuan province, China. There’s so much culture there with a rich blend of traditional and contemporary. I stayed at an incredible hotel called The Temple House, which is modern, luxurious and built into what looks like an ancient temple.
On the first morning, we trekked the countryside to a conservatory where I got to meet and sit with a giant panda. It was a very special moment. That afternoon I had my first traditional Chengdu-style hot pot that was delicious and mouth-numbing. I had posted that I was staying at The Temple House on social media, and by the time we got back there were huge crowds of people waiting for me outside. People printed photos they wanted me to sign, one person even had a copy of my baby picture. It was really sweet and humbling meeting so many fans from Chengdu, everyone there was so nice and happy. Later, I got a chance to watch the Sichuan Opera where the actors’ masks unexpectedly change throughout the show. I would highly recommend anyone interested in travel, food and culture to visit Chengdu. I can’t wait to go back.

5. Her go-to sneakers at the moment:
It always changes but right now I’m really into what adidas is doing with its BOOST technology for performance. For something more lifestyle, its classic Gazelle OG and collaborations with Raf Simons are what I’m into lately. I’ve also been wearing some high-fashion chunky runners a lot in NYC and China. Acne Studios and Balenciaga have some really nice ones that I love. I also have my eye on the new Louis Vuitton ones.

6. Her number one tip for taking a good selfie:
Nice, even light and a bright smile.

7. No surprises here. Her favorite way to relax and unwind is, of course, over food:
I love to cook, so I’ll usually unwind in the kitchen preparing some healthy treats at home. If I’m traveling, I love sharing a delicious meal with friends and family at new restaurants. I went to abcV almost every night during fashion week. It’s amazing!

fmarin-170907-adrianneho

8. So this is how she achieves flawless skin:
I keep a pretty clean diet and drink lots of water. I travel with Dr. Bronner’s Liquid Baby Soap, COOLA Sunscreen, Eminence Organic Exfoliating Peel and Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum.

9. On what’s next for her after landing her deal with adidas:
There are a lot of big things happening that I can’t announce just quite yet. I’ve been fortunate to work in so many avenues from fashion to fitness and the rest of the year will take things to another level. You can follow me on social media to see what I’m up to on the daily.

10. It’s no secret that Adrianne loves xiao long bao and pho. If she could only have either for the rest of her life, she’d choose:
XLB from Din Tai Fung all the way!

The KitchenAid® Pro Line® Series Blender: Berry Protein Smoothie

adrianneho_kitchenaid-8Blenders are one of the most important things to have in your kitchen, especially if your goal is to live a healthy lifestyle. Blending food assists in pre-digestion so your body does not have to spend extra energy absorbing the nutrients in your food. The new KitchenAid® Pro Line® Series Blender is a favorite of mine! I use the blender to make smoothies several times a week so I need something that can stand frequent use.adrianneho_kitchenaid-7After my morning workouts a protein smoothie is the first thing on my mind. The blender quickly blends everything from frozen fruits and vegetables and crushes ice! Easy to use, it creates the perfectly blended smoothie with no chunks in sight. Check out one of my favorite recipes below…adrianneho_kitchenaid-9Power Berry Smoothie
Serves 3
Greek yogurt is high in protein and contains probiotics that aid in digestion, which is especially important in the morning. Almond butter contains healthy fats that improve hair, skin, and provide energy, as well as fiber to keep you full longer. Frozen berries contain antioxidants that allow your body to fight off illness. Finally Hemp protein is an easy to digest source of protein that wont affect the taste of your smoothie. Add honey as a natural sweetener that won’t jolt your blood sugar and you’re good to go!

1/2 cup Hemp Powder
